Install Termyte

Requirements

Node.js 20 or newer
npm
Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode for automatic capture

npm install -g termyte
termyte init

termyte init is interactive. It detects supported agents, installs their user-level hooks or plugin, saves ~/.termyte/config.json, and creates the local database when needed. If setup fails, it restores the integration files it changed.

Set TERMYTE_HOME to move the Termyte config directory or TERMYTE_DB to choose a different database file.

Upgrade

npm install -g termyte@latest
termyte init

Running setup again refreshes the installed integrations and keeps unrelated valid configuration entries.

Remove integrations

termyte uninstall

Uninstall removes the Termyte hook or plugin entries you select. It does not delete the database.
